Are you looking for a way to extract the audio from a YouTube video? Maybe you want to listen to a music track or a podcast offline, or you need a sound clip for your own project. Whatever your reason, you can easily save the audio from a YouTube video with the right tool.
In this blog post, we will show you how to do it using RecMaster, a versatile screen recorder that can capture system sound and microphone sound with high quality. With RecMaster, you can record any sound that plays on your computer, including the audio from a YouTube video. Here’s how.
The first step is to download and install RecMaster on your computer. RecMaster is compatible with Windows and Mac systems, and you can download it from the official website at recmaster.net. Choose the version that matches your operating system and follow the instructions to install it. Once the installation is complete, launch RecMaster and you will see the main interface.
Before you start recording, you can configure the audio settings in RecMaster. This step is optional and the default settings will provide a nice quality with the smallest file size.
Click on Menu and Settings to launch the Settings window. In the File tab, You can select the output audio format. The default is mp3. You can change it to wav format if you need it.
Audio Sample Rate and Bit Rate
You can also adjust the audio sample rate and bit rate in Audio Tab on the Settings window. And here you can choose values according to your need. Please note that the more parameters you choose, the larger the output file is.
And besides, if you don’t hope to record the cursor click sound during the recording, you can disable the Show cursor option.
Now you can choose the recording mode in RecMaster. There are seven options: Full Screen, Custom Area, Webcam, Game mode, Program mode, Follow Cursor, Webcam, and Audio Only. Since you only want to save the audio from a YouTube video, please select the Audio Only mode. This will activate the audio recording function and disable the screen recording function.
You can turn off the Microphone to avoid the environmental noises around you. And by clicking the triangle button beside System Sound or Microphone, you can choose Advanced to launch the Sound Settings. On that window, you can choose the right audio devices and test them.
If you hope the audio is enhanced, you can tick System Sound Gain which helps enhance the system sound.
But it’s highly recommended to record a piece of audio to test whether it sounds normal.
After you have selected the Audio Only mode, you can start recording the audio from the YouTube video.
Open your web browser and navigate to the YouTube video you want to save the audio from. And play the video and make sure that the sound is audible. Then go back to RecMaster and click on the red REC button. The recording will start after a 3-second countdown. You can pause and resume the recording at any time by clicking on the corresponding buttons. When you are done, click on the Stop button or Alt + 2 to end the recording.
Once you have finished recording, the audio file will be saved to the RecMaster recording folder by default. And you can locate, rename, and preview the files on the RecMaster recording list. You can now listen to the audio file on your computer or transfer it to your mobile device or media player.
If you want to edit the audio file, you can use a dedicated audio editor or a video editor that supports audio editing. There are many free and paid options available, such as Audacity, WavePad, Adobe Audition, and iMovie. You can trim, merge, fade, or enhance the audio as you like. Once you have edited the audio file, you can export it in various formats and qualities, depending on your needs.
It’s important to note that downloading copyrighted material from YouTube without permission is illegal, so be sure to only download audio from videos that are allowed to be downloaded or have permission from the owner.
Saving audio from a YouTube video is a simple process with RecMaster. By following the steps above, you can record the audio from any YouTube video with ease and quality. Whether you want to listen to music, podcasts, lectures, or interviews offline, or use the audio for your own projects, RecMaster can help you achieve your goal.
